REVIEW: Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers

Hi again. It is officially Christmas Eve Eve! I am super excited. Today I am going to be reviewing the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers. Izzie from Izzie’s Beauty Blog (who is amazing, by the way!) asked me to do this review, so I hope that this is helpful to anyone who wants to know about these products. Colour: I have the colours Stellar and Luna. These are two very different colours, Stellar is a bright fuchsia toned pink, while luna is a peachy orange. I saw Luna on Zoella’s YouTube channel a while ago, and she looked lovely in it, so I bought it. But my skin tone really doesn’t suit this colour, and I look very washed out and ill when I wear this shade! I like both the colours, but my favourite is definitely Stellar. The pigmentation is very strong as well, but I felt that as Stellar is a very bold colour, high pigmentation and bold colour choices was just too much. I have to do a lot of blending to get it to my preferred level of pigmentation.

Formulation: The formulation is very smooth and quite creamy, but I found that the lacquer did slightly dry out my lips. It didn’t make them completely cracked, but it kind of stuck to the drier areas, leaving my lips looking rather sad 😦

Lasting Power: Many reviews say that these lip lacquer last a long time, but I felt that they wore off after 2 hours. They also fade leaving a strong stain around the outline of your lips that is not very pleasant.

Overall I think that I don’t mind these products, but I rarely wear them. I will not be purchasing any more colours in this range, but I don’t feel they were a total waste of money. I think if you have more confidence in wearing very bright lip colours than me, then these are great, but personally I found them a bit too much.
