Wintry Wednesday #4: #BakingWithBlossom Banana Bread | cherryblossom15

Hello! I am a little annoyed at myself for slightly slipping on my pretty good schedule of blogging, but alas, these things happen but I’m back right now…

Today I thought I’d do a #BakingWithBlossom post, and I went forΒ  lovely winter warming recipe today – Banana Bread!

8oz. self raising flour
1/2 level teaspoon salt
4oz. butter
5oz. caster sugar
4oz. sultanas
1oz. chopped walnuts
3 medium ripe bananas
2 eggs
(milk if the mixture is too dry)

The Method

Sieve the flour, cinnamon and salt into a large mixing bowl. Chuck in the butter which you’ve cut into little cubes, and crumble the mixture until you are left with a bowl of breadcrumb looking stuff! Next mix in the sugar with a wooden spoon and add the raisins and chopped walnuts. Mash the three bananas and add them into the bowl with the eggs and give it all a good ol’ mix! Then pop the whole lovely looking mixture into the loaf tin and pop it in the oven for 45 minutes (may need a little longer depending on how hot your oven is – I have a particularly hot oven) Then you are finished, and 45 minutes later you can enjoy this gorgeous (and not too unhealthy) banana bread – it’s especially amazing when it’s warm!

Thanks for reading and if you try this recipe be sure to Tweet or Instagram a picture, tag me (@CherryB15blog) and use #BakingWithBlossom… πŸ™‚ xx

I do that! These ones were horribly brown and speckled on the skins and it makes it taste to much stronger. Thanks for the tip, and I’m glad you like it πŸ™‚ xx
